VALENTINES ALL WEEK

Wow, what a week. All parts of the business seem to be exploding, with a great multi-million Euro deal with a Telecoms provider – sorry we cannot announce the name as it has to be kept confidential – and an additional contract with a Premier League Football Club. It is so frustrating that I am not able to give all the names away, but trust me, it is happening, and our agreement to open a new office in the United Arab Emirates has added to our excitement.

Last night the week finished on a high as we won a China Business Award, beating some large multinational organisations. So congratulations to all our team, both here in the UK who work with our Chinese office and our fantastic team in Beijing. Not only are they working on our contracts in a different time zone, enabling us to deliver at great speed to our clients, but our China operation is also winning more in-China work. Asia for us is moving into top gear, and we are spending a great deal on the infrastructure to speed communications between our offices around the world.

We are on countdown to moving into our new office, which is to be known as Link Up House. It really is going to be state of the art with swipe cards for everything. Swipe to get in, swipe to get out, swipe to collect your printing and even pay for your food in our posh new staff restaurant, to be known as The Lounge.

Our Interpreting business, both face-to-face and over the telephone, is expanding so rapidly we are having to refurbish our entire London office so we can accommodate another 30 staff.

I am going to have to leave you now as I have just had a flash reminder to go and buy a Valentine’s card for my wife. I actually don’t make a great fuss of Valentine’s Day, as I think I am pretty romantic all the year round! I was very pleased to see that our offices in the UK and America have been putting a great deal of effort into using Valentine’s celebrations to raise money for various charities around the world.

I want to take this opportunity of wishing you all a very happy Valentine’s Day, and even if you have not received a card, or sent a card, at least I hope there is someone special you are thinking about.

Hope I can cope with all the mail on Sunday. Let me know if you get any special Valentine’s greetings.
