A PROUD MAN
It’s great to report in this week’s blog the conclusion of a series of large wins at thebigword. So why is this happening? Well, of course, it’s down to all our spectacular staff who have been working so incredibly hard. Life at thebigword is very exciting but for many of our team, the workload and the expectations of delivery from our clients is high. A further reason for our great success is that investment in technology is paying off. Then of course there is our wonderful army of linguists who help us translate 30 million words, interpret two million minutes of speech over the telephone and fulfil around 12,000 face-to-face interpreter bookings every month.
I was amazed this weekend of how at literally only two hours’ notice, more than 50 of our staff in Leeds volunteered to work extra over the weekend to ensure the delivery of a contract that was given at very short notice. Our client, a global company, told us that they knew it was impossible but could we do our best? And we delivered.
So, if you are looking for work and reading this blog, then please contact us! We are very proud that we have just created 92 more jobs at our Leeds headquarters, 51 of them being temp and 41 permanent. If you want to work in a calm, slow paced, environment with no pressure then thebigword is not for you. However, if you want an exciting and challenging environment with lots of prospects to develop your career then we may just be the place.
Finally, my thanks to our international sales team, who, despite it sounding glamorous, spend much of their time away from families and friends visiting our customers in four continents – a great team. I am very proud.
