Our plans for world domination unveiled!

Tuesday 30th June 2015

Last week thebigword held its Annual Conference and, if I do say so myself, it was our best ever!
I think this year was different because in the past twelve months we have successfully launched our Interpreting Management System (IMS), and in the last two months we launched our Translation Management System (TMS).
It sounds easy to just write ‘launched’ but this technology has taken over three years to develop and like all great technology, will continue to evolve. Challenges for companies like ours, are our science - like the ever increasing demand for speed, accuracy and at a cost-effective rate.
The language market has now grown to over £23.5m ($37m) per annum. The work we are doing with localising websites, for example, is really mind blowing and bringing together our 8,000 linguists working from 73 countries and more than 3,000 different global clients is something we are very proud of.
At the end of my blog you can see a recent article written about thebigword which gives you more information. In the meantime, a special thanks to all our attendees which for the first time this year included not just our own people but some of our advisors and of great importance, a number of our very special clients.
As well as our Conference, on the Friday evening we also held our Annual Dinner and Awards ceremony which recognises the excellence of our colleagues and I attach a photograph of myself with the four winners.
Of course, what is so special about winning these awards is that the winners are nominated and voted for by their colleagues and not the senior management. So huge congratulations to them all!
Looking forward to catching up with you next week with more news (I am sitting in the airport as my plane to New York is delayed).
Regards,
Larry
